Is this travel? Is this lifestyle? Who knows?
Anyway, a week or so ago, I took the train journey from York all the way down to the West Country – it’s a bloody long journey I’ll tell you that much – to meet my family down in the village of Dittisham in Devon. My great-great-great-(great?)-granddad used to be the ferryman here, so my family have a very very (very?) long-established connection to the little village.
I was there for under a week but boy did we eat (and drink) a lot. There’s an incredible café called the Anchorstone looking over the river which does the BEST seafood I've ever tasted. Then a short ferry ride away is the town of Dartmouth which has lots of boutique shops, quirky cafes and a market to wander round.
Although theres not much going on in Dittisham, it's such a lovely place to go for a few days to get away from everything, it's just so calm and idyllic that it just makes you feel so relaxed and stress free while you're there.
Have you been away in the UK or abroad on holiday recently?
