For a day and an evening we managed to pack in a pretty decent amount. Seeing as it was right at the end of Wimbledon fortnight, we gathered the best picnic our student and graduate-living-in-london budgets could afford, (a.k.a. some reduced price cherries, a Tesco sandwich and a free can of coke) and toddled down to Exchange Square to munch our feeble picnic and watch some tennis. Thank you to the English summer weather for holding out for us!
After all the tennis fun, we headed to Cottons Rhumshack to catch Happy Hour a.k.a. half price cocktaaaiiillsss. One of my weaknesses seriously, take me to cocktails, and I'm basically yours. After we headed to Barrio East, because one set of Happy Hour cocktails definitely aren't enough?!
On the way back to my cousins flat, we stopped off at Urban Food Fest - cos we're pretty much constantly hungry, okay? You can get basically any kind of food there. We went for pizza, because we're a bit boring. For £4 a slice it was a very decent size and tasted incredible too.
The next morning we dragged our - maybe slightly a tad groggy *cough*hungover*cough* - selves to a bright space in Shoreditch called The Book Club. And. Just. OH MA GAAD. Pesto scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on top = the best invention I've ever had the privilege to try (and which will be overly repeated when I return to uni, probably without the salmon). I would definitely recommend it if you're in the area - except the coffee. I always have the worst luck with overly bitter coffee.
After our beyond satisfying (read: I was super full I could barely read/move/walk) breakfast/brunch, we crossed London to head home. A nice evening/day out all in all!
