First of all, I need to make it clear - I am not a photography pro/amateur/barely even a beginner. I'm very very new to this all, so this 'review' is just my first impressions. I'm aiming to learn as much as I can, and practise and work on my photography as much as I can. So basically - please don't take this too seriously!

Over the past few months I've been saving slowly but surely to purchase a little camera for myself. Partially for ellie etc's benefit, I'm always looking for ways I can improve my content; but also as I'm very interested in starting working on photography skills aside from the blogging.

This little beauty - the Canon EOS M - was recommended to me by both my dad and brother, both of whom are very into their technology - my brother's camera being the main camera, a Canon EOS 600D, used for pictures for ellie etc.

After only having this little gadget for little over a week, I feel like I could already recommend it. It's a perfect size to pop in an everyday bag to carry around on the off chance something photograph-worthy pops up in sight. The kit I opted for came with a 18-55mm lens, the generic, most every-day lens to use, a zoom lens. Also a 22mm lens, this one is a prime lens so does not zoom, but usually gives a clearer depth of field (i.e. when the background goes fuzzy and the subject is in focus).

My kit also came with an EF-EOS M Adapter allowing me to use my brother's EOS 600D lenses (which, bless my little camera, are huge compared to it!). Also a separate flash which I am yet to experiment with.

I really am at a very low beginners level of photography, so again, just a reminder that my advice my not be 100% accurately written. If anyone has any tips or good websites (or even corrections if I've made any mistakes in this post - eek!) that you think would help me out, please leave the links below!

Co-Ord - Oh Polly* // Hat -  H&M // Boots - Topshop

Recently the lovely people over at Oh Polly emailed me about their new website (check it out HERE, it's definitely going to be a big name), and very very kindly offered to send me an item from their collection. My housemate (who's - slightly less fashion-y slightly more intellectual - blog is HERE) pointed out this is a great opportunity to get a piece that's slightly out of my usual comfort zone. Hence the two-piece.

I can imagine wearing this while in a gorgeous Grecian town like Mykonos or Santorini (currently working on a holiday to one of them, stay tuned). It's such a gorgeous summer piece, I've never owned a two-piece before but it's definitely made me re-think that decision! I'm all for getting the most out of my purchases, and with a two-piece you've basically got 3-in-1; the full outfit, the top and the shorts. I'm really looking forward to styling it for the summer, and potentially even into the A/W season.

Don't get me wrong, I adore this piece, however I would recommend getting a size up than your usual size. I have definitely 'changed shape' (*cough*got fatter*cough*) since being at Uni, however I'm pretty sure I've not gone up an entire size. Aside from that, the fit is lovely. Promise.

All of Oh Polly's pieces are inspired by 'celebrity style', but at a fraction of the price. They also ship from the UK which makes delivery very fast. However what makes Oh Polly extra special is their involvement with the charity Gifts4Kids in Cambodia; donating a portion of their total profits regularly. Something so unique to our fast-fashion culture.

PLAYLIST | Revision, Revising, Essays, Zzzz

music, playlist, revision, songs, uni, University

The title perfectly sums up my views on revision. As dull as watching paint dry. But if you're at uni like me, or at college or school, it's just something you have to get on and do. I've had a revision playlist ever since revising for my GCSE's and gradually changed it adding and removing songs over the years.

I like songs that are quite motivating, but not too too loud or have too many lyrics in - I just end up singing along if that's the case. Electronic and house the music are usually my first pick. Just really chilled out, relaxed music with a bit of a beat. Indie rock bands are also a top choice, usually not as loud as rock bands but still with the motivational kick to them. (Yes, I realise I'm starting to talk absolute nonsense, I'll just stop now..)

So since exam season is well and truly here (wahh) the playlist has been out in full swing. In reality its much much bigger than this. I get bored of hearing the same songs over and over during long revision/essay writing sessions. But these are my favourites.

Bondax - Gold (Snakehips Bootleg)
Tourist - Your Girl
ViLLAGE - Takeover
Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine) ft. Will Heard
Bakermat - One Day (Vandaag)
Aaron Smith - Dancin (KRONO Remix)
Shy Girls - When I Say I Love U (Saux Remix)
Drake - Hold On, We're Going Home (Kastle Remix)
Milky Chance - Stolen Dance
Bastille ft. Ella - No Angels
Tourist - Patterns
ASTR - Blue Hawaii
The Weekend - Often (Kygo Remix)
Eastside - Ellie (Don't x Loyal) (Chris Axis Deep Mix)
Disciples - They Don't Know

Find my playlist on YouTube HERE

UPDATE: Since the posting of this has been delayed, I've actually finished my exams now (woohoo), thoughts to those still in the middle of theirs, they'll be over soon!

NEW IN | White Jacket, Body Shop Hand Cream & A Fedora

After 9 months of living in York I finally managed to sneakk in a trip to the outlet (thanks to one of my housemates who has his car here!). Dream. Come. True. I adore outlets. To be perfectly honest with you, the main reason I bought these was due to the gorgeous packaging. I think I'm a magpie, I'm just so attracted to shiny things. An additional bonus is that they smell divine, and seem to work really well too.
New In, haul, topshop, jacket, white, leather, collarless
JUST. I'm just. Just this. I'm just so in love with this. I've been dying to get a white jacket for ages, just to make a difference from my never-ending black and grey wardrobe. Having vouchers left over and this beauty being reduced to £35 I just couldn't stop myself. One of my friends bought it as well, because twinning is always fun isn't it?

New In, haul, fedora hat, h&m

Other beauty I've been after for too long. I bought one online recently which was sadly too small for me due to my giant head, it's for sale on my depop HERE if anyone fancies taking a look. This one was featured on my most recent wish list HERE. Last time I was in town I decided it was time. Definitely a decision I do not regret, I can basically chuck it on with anything.
