Festival Wish List Part One: Fashion Picks

I am heading off to the little festival Blissfields in a weeks time, so this wish list is possibly a tad late for me, however if any of you are off to any festivals here is my guide to your essential beauty and fashion for the few days. Blissfields is actually a themed festival, this year the theme being 'The Directors Cut', so my wardrobe for the weekend may look a bit different to that on this wish list! This is just a general wishlist, for general festival wear. I also feel it should be a bit more colourful, there are just too many other pieces that I couldn't squeeze in!

How cute are the little wellies? They are seriously an essential for any festival! This pair are especially good too because if the weather suddenly decides to brighten up a bit, they won't get all gross and sweaty on your legs like full length wellies do! The little pouch bag is a perfect size to keep your daily essentials (phone, money etc.) in, but not too bulky to be lugging around all day. I'm continuing my love of hoop earrings too, and I also love this cute little anklet (number 6), would look great with any outfit.

My absolute favourite out of the whole of this wishlist though, would have to be the denim dungaree/pinafore dress. It reminds me so much of primary school days, but I love the slightly grungy up-to-date acid wash denim fabric of it. I think it would be perfect for any festival goer! I've actually ordered some dungarees but with shorts instead of a skirt, they will debut on my blog as soon as they arrive!

What do you think of my picks? Are you going to any festivals this year? Anybody going to Blissfields too?

p.s. there is still time before we say goodbye to Google Reader (boo, hiss!) to head over and follow ellie etc on bloglovin HERE to continue seeing updates from my blog.
Thank you!

New In: Seventeen 'On The Spot' Foundation

So I've decided to change things up a bit and chuck a beauty post into the mix, as I seem to have been neglecting the 'beauty' part of ellie etc. I've never really done a review on make-up so bare with me, I'm new to this! Seventeen_On_The_Spot_Foundation Seventeen_On_The_Spot_Foundation Seventeen_On_The_Spot_Foundation

Recently I've been suffering from something almost everyone has to deal with in their lifetime - spots. I put it down to the stress of my exams, along with being a bit slack with my healthy eating and exercise regime, which was again due to exams. I know it's not great to blame something else, for all I know it could have just been hormones and the fact I'm 17. But who knows? All I knew was that I needed to sort it out.

Trying to find a solution, I picked up this foundation from Boots a week or so ago. I have been eyeing it up in several prior visits to Boots, due to the promotions on it (which are sadly no longer running, sorry!), as well as it's claim to give 'clearer skin in 4 weeks'.

Seeing as I've only had it for a a couple of weeks, it possibly isn't the best time to be writing this review, so a follow up review in 4 weeks time may feature to see if it's claims are true! Although saying that, my skin does seem to be noticeably clearer since using it, I wish I'd taken a 'before' photo to show you the difference! Also being much less stressed due to no more exams (yay!) could have had some effect on the clearing of my spots.

It looks slightly the wrong colour for my skin in the last photo, that's only due to the skin on my hands being a completely different colour to the skin on my face (I don't know if that's just me being odd, or if that's the same for everyone?). However, I'm also very impressed with the coverage it provides, it lasts all day without the need for a primer, which is always a good thing! It also provides nice and even coverage too, even without a foundation brush or sponge - one of which I should probably start using.

Overall Rating:

(Missing out the last half a star due to it making my skin feel a tiny tad greasy!)
Available at Boots

Have any of you tried this foundation before, and if so, how did you find it? Also, did you enjoy my first ever make up review post? Would you like to see more of these type posts featured on ellie etc? Let me know in the comments below!

p.s. there is now under a week until we say goodbye to Google Reader (boo, hiss!), so if you haven't done already, please head over and follow ellie etc on bloglovin HERE to continue seeing updates from my blog.
Thank you!

OOTD: So Clap Your Hands Lets Play

I HAVE OFFICIALLY FINISHED MY AS EXAMS!! WOOOOO!! Haha, sorry about that outburst, I just had to let it out! I feel like I have a massive weight taken off my shoulders, finally I am free from exam and revision and college stress! (Well at least til Monday when I start college starts again, boo hiss.)

Anyway, enough of my aimless rambling. I thought I'd come back to blogging with an OOTD, it's a pretty casual one just for running errands, wandering around town and meeting some friends.

Black Crochet Top - River Island (similar here)
Upper Arm Band - Gift (similar here)
Hasma Hand Necklace - Delilah Dust
Woven Belt - Charity Shop (similar here)
Silver Pinkie Ring - Car Boot Sale (similar here)
Skinny Jeans - Topshop
Black boots - Topshop via

My new(ish) Topshop boots are featuring again as you can see, I just can't get enough of them! My poor mangled belt is from a Charity Shop a while ago, it's so useful and I use it all the time - hence why it's looking so destroyed at the front.

This cute crocheted top is from River Island a while ago, it actually featured in my second ever haul post (which is here, if any of you would like a blast from my blogging past). I think it's the kind which would be really easy to dress up, although I've never actually had the chance to do so myself.

Also, a new little treat for you is an inside into my music tastes - which I must say is a very odd mixture as a whole! The song the lyrics 'so clap your hands lets play' (the title to this post) come from is Drink Dance Play by Young Kato. They are such a great band which featured on Made In Chelsea a while back and now I can't get enough of them!

To anyone who has finished their exams recently, well done for getting through them! And to anyone who is still in the middle of exams, good luck for any you have left to do!

I should be back to posting regularly again, I'm so sorry about these weird past few weeks where I've been half here and then half putting up guest posts. It's been a very stressful time for me, but all of the stress should now be disappearing, so back to blogging properly! I've missed you!
